Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 9, 2026

"GATE CAM" (the "App") respects your privacy and handles your data with integrity. This policy explains what information the App accesses and how it is used.

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Our Commitment

The App does not transmit any videos, photos, or location data you capture to the developer's servers. All data remains on your device or in Apple services you choose (such as iCloud).

2. Information We Access

The App may request access to the following device capabilities to provide its features.

Data Purpose Required / Optional
Camera Video recording and live preview Required
Microphone Audio recording during video capture Required
Photo Library Reviewing recorded clips, importing clips for grading, and saving exported videos and photos to your device Required
Location Optional. Used to record or display shooting location information when available. Optional

You can revoke any of these permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app. Doing so may limit some or all features of the App.

3. Use of Data and Third-Party Sharing

The App does not use or sell your videos, photos, camera settings, or location data for any purpose beyond providing the App's features. The developer has no access to your media files.

Exceptions apply only when:

4. Your Responsibility for Data

You are solely responsible for managing all videos, photos, and location data captured or saved through the App. The developer is not liable for any data loss, unauthorized access, or leakage.

If you send data to third parties using the App's export features, the developer is not responsible for the outcome.

Videos and photos you capture may involve portrait rights, privacy rights, or copyright of subjects. Please verify and respect those rights before capturing, saving, or sharing content.

5. Third-Party SDKs and Tracking

The App currently includes no advertising SDKs or third-party analytics SDKs that track users. This website also does not use any third-party tracking scripts or cookies. If crash reporting or anonymous usage statistics are added in the future, this policy will be updated in advance and you will be notified within the App. Continued use after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

6. Data Storage and Processing

All data processing — including videos, photos, and settings — occurs entirely on your device or in your chosen storage destination such as iCloud. No data is sent to the developer's servers.

The App may store per-clip grading settings in a local on-device database to make it easier to revisit and edit clips. These settings are used only within the App and are not transmitted externally.

7. Apple Services

The App runs on Apple's iOS platform and may communicate with the following Apple services. Such communication is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. The developer has no involvement in or responsibility for how Apple handles data.

8. Security

Because the App does not transmit data externally, network-level security risks are minimal. However, you are responsible for the security of your device itself — including passcode, biometrics, and OS updates. The developer is not liable for data leaks caused by inadequate device security.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from any user. If a child under 13 uses the App, please ensure parental supervision.

10. Revoking Permissions and Deleting Data

All permissions (camera, microphone, photos, location) can be reviewed and changed at any time in iOS Settings → GATE CAM.

Uninstalling the App removes all in-app settings stored on your device. Videos and photos saved to your Photo Library must be deleted individually through the iOS Photos app. Per-clip grading settings can also be cleared from the App's Settings screen. Because the developer stores no user data on servers, no server-side deletion is necessary.

11. Disclaimer

The developer makes reasonable efforts to protect your privacy but does not warrant:

12. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. When material changes are made, the revision date on this page will be updated and we will endeavor to notify you via an in-app notice. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. Please review this page periodically.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This policy is governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising from this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance.
